CoD: Ghosts next-gen upgrade options include “disc-less dual license”

4.4
Activision has detailed a couple of new options for grabbing a next-gen version of Call of Duty: Ghosts for those who purchase a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 copy.

As detailed in a website update, Xbox fans have the option to purchase a “disc-less dual license” through the Xbox Game Ahead Program. Available through participating retailers at an RRP of $70, it offers two digital copies of Call of Duty: Ghosts – one for Xbox 360, and one for Xbox One – tied to a specific gamertag.

The same deal is available through the Xbox live Marketplace, by purchasing the Xbox 360 version for $50 and then paying out $10 for the Xbox One version.

The PS3 version is eligible for a similar deal, whether you pick it up at retail or through the PlayStation Store; for a limited time, all store-bought copies will come with a download code unlocking a $10 version for PS4.

Exact prices for these deals will vary by territory, with a €10 and £10 upgrade price suggested for Europe and the UK respectively. One definite detail is that all upgrade deals must be redeemed by the end of March 2014, though.

These new options are in addition to various retailer offers, which allow purchasers in various territories to grab a PS4 or Xbox One copy for $10, on top of the purchase price of the original. A full breakdown is available on the page linked above.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is due on PC, PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360 on November 5, with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming when the new console launches.

This is great! $70 for two games, basically. And to those who say this is restrictive... Far from it! Wherever you go, just sign into your profile & play. Easy. As far as console banning, just don't do anything stupid.
