GAME runs out of Xbox One Day One Edition consoles

4.7
UK retailer GAME is no longer taking pre-orders for the Xbox One Day One Edition.

In an update posted on its website over the weekend, the retailer said: "Unfortunately, we have now reached our limit for Xbox One Day One Edition console preorders.

"The standard edition console is still available to order, although we can no longer guarantee you will receive yours on launch day. As soon as we can confirm when the standard edition is available we'll let you all know."

Xbox One Day One Edition consoles come with a commemorative controller, a code to unlock an exclusive Achievement, and a free digital copy of FIFA 14.

Xbox One will launch in 13 markets this November. The Xbox One price has been set at £430 / €500 / $500.

Earlier this week, an alleged internal Walmart document suggested Microsoft may have pencilled in an Xbox One release date of November 8 in the US.

UK retailers can also no longer guarantee delivery of PS4 pre-orders placed after August 5.

GAME says: "Any customers who deposited after 6th August 2013 will be given priority over further stock, so the best way to make sure you get your hands on a console as close to launch day as possible is to deposit with us."

Sources close to the matter have told CVG that retail outlets have also been promised additional units for general sale on day one - meaning those who don't pre-order will still have a small chance of buying the system on release day.

Why would they do that? You'd think they'd take as many as they can get... I mean, after all they're simply declining being given money!

GAME lasted quite a long time in regards to offering D1E consoles which was quite a surprise.

Impossibility have a feeling the first consoles will have a few issues

Ofcourse they will, but it'll just get fixed by updates.

Every single next gen console is sold over here to, no places to get them on the 1st day anymore...

Daw I'm not surprised.

I'll be waiting until later on in the year on 2014 to buy it.

I find that waiting is the best plan, mainly to avoid the shortages initially and see what console suits you best. There are also possible errors that users may encounter over the first few months, which i would also like to avoid

Zeff I won't be buying it until a non kinect bundled version comes out, Cause god knows that piece of trash is useless.

Would definitely have to agree, I would just keep it in the box or would try selling it lol

You may be waiting a long time for that... it would be smart to just get the Kinect in-case a game that you have really been wanting requires it

Dr-Ponyfile Same with the PS4 they will be both sold out at launch theres no problem. There will be shortages and a lot of people are going to be unhappy.

I hope that the shortages simply clear up relatively fast is all. I am not getting a next generation console until some time in 2014 so it doesn't really worry me too much
