Battlefield 4 video shows off 'Levolution'

Developer DICE has penned the term 'Levolution' to describe the ways in which Battlefield 4 players can change the game's maps during gun fights, as it details in a new video below.

"Levolution in BF4 delivers a dynamic battlefield that reacts to the player's every move to ensures that no two games will ever be the same," says DICE.

At Gamescom this week DICE revealed a new game type, Obliteration, which sees two teams fight to secure a randomly spawned bomb, transport it to the enemy target and detonate it.

You can check out 64-player footage of the mode in action on the stormy seas of the newly revealed Paracel Storm map here.

The publisher has confirmed a Battlefield 4 release date of October 29 in the US and November 1 in the UK on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Next-gen versions will be out "this holiday".

Mortar Battlefield is always fun the the fact that you can cause a great deal of destruction to the surrounding area. Hopefully we will be able to cause even more damage.


I agree, the destructible environment looks amazing in this game! I think some things may be a bit annoying though...

This looks really cool. I like how there are small things in the map like the shutters but there are also major features that change the map like the dam breaking. The car alarm seems quite funny though.

No, it won't. Call of Duty is the "name brand" of FPSs, and it will always be that way, it has been, and will always be, the most popular first person shooter, whether you like it or not. That day will only come when Call of Duty no longer makes games.


Call of Duty may be the most popular, but Counter Strike will always be the king of first person shooters...
