FIFA 14 to feature Messi and Chicharito on North American cover

4.5
The North American cover for FIFA 14 will feature both Lionel Messi and Manchester United's Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, EA Sports announced. Fans in the US will have the option of the dual-athlete cover or the global cover, which only features Messi. Hernandez will also have his own solo cover art for the game in Mexico.

The FIFA cover was announced as part of a multi-year endorsement deal signed by Hernandez with EA Sports. The publisher noted that Hernandez will specifically appear on Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game. EA Sports also recently announced that New Jersey Devils goalie Martin Brodeur won the cover vote for NHL 14.

The FIFA series has a distinct trend in terms of its cover athletes. Messi seems much more distraught this year compared to the FIFA 13 cover. It's likely that he's fully taken over the "angry shouting guy" duties previously held by Wayne Rooney as recently as FIFA 12. If the trend holds up, we await a ticked-off Chicharito on the box for FIFA 15.

-Brayden I just bought FIFA 13 yesterday, so I won't be buying FIFA 14 until the new consoles come out.

FIFA 13 is a disappointment to be honest, much preferred FIFA 12

qXxLEONIDASxXp im not excited at all... just another same fifa. different name, same game

No way they're exactly the same, same genre, same sport, but they are very different from one another, FIFA is more competitive, but stressing, PES is more fun for singleplayer cups, but not as fun. FIFA is way better, but PES is still hanging in there.

ShadowBoltDashie I'm going to be honest I never knew people could get excited and mad over a video game cover. I had a few people in Skype earlier asking me what I think about it and then some getting mad about the cover to me and I'm sitting there not even knowing what's going on because I don't play FIFA .-.

It's just common ethics i guess. I'm guessing your from the U.S? Football(Soccer) is probably one the most mainstream and played sports in the world, only a few countries don't support it as good as the U.K or Spain, thats mostly because they have there own sport, for America it's Football(NFL), and for Australia it's Football(AFL). I am half British so the blood of soccer runs through my veins lol. My point is, people are arguing, because they don't like the look, the feel, even the players them self, like if i were to choose, I'd go with Tim Cahill and Ronaldo, but that wont happen lol xD
