Angry Birds Trilogy coming to Wii U in August

4.5
Rovio has confirmed the Angry Birds Trilogy will be available for the Nintendo Wii and Wii U in August.

The Angry Birds Trilogy features Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio.

According to its developer, the Nintendo release "30 episodes on disc -- including exclusive new levels". Additionally it has "Wii U Gamepad and TV swap capability, touch screen controls and online leaderboards."

In May, Rovio launched a new publishing business called 'Rovio Stars'. The initiative will debut with Nitrome-developed Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage.

According to director of development Kalle Kaivola, Rovio Stars is "focusing on a small, select number of games, and each Rovio Stars launch will be an event of its own."

Rovio Stars EVP Jami Laes said the new initiative is intended to guide users to quality games in a flooded market. "We want to help our fans find quality entertainment among the more than 100,000 games available in the app stores."

lel I don't see the need for a trilogy for this. The app was good enough

They're milking it until its dead, like cod...

Angry birds has already been milked to an amazing amount. Hopefully after this they drop it and keep the very small amount of credibility that the series still has left.

Angry Birds to me is one of those games that had it's 15 minutes of fame but is still being pushed to try and keep it's fame. They had a good run but they should just give it up and stop milking it or it will soon begin to attract more negative comments about it.

It's already begging to generate a lot of negativity, it was a fun game to start with but it wasn't good enough for the long term..

That negativity will probably be mostly geared towards Nintendo. If people start to think this was a sell out attempt, they will target Nintendo with negativity the most.

i don't think angry birds will sell anymore "versions" to be honest it is boring

Me neither. All of the versions are exactly the same in my opinion, just changing how a few of the birds or pigs look.

Cokes I think Angry Birds would fit a whole lot better on the Wii U then the Xbox 360 or the PS4

Yeah it definitely would.. It's more of an interactive game, which would fit far better with a console like the Wii, rather than an Xbox or Playstation.

Frog This might do alright for the Wii as it's a more family based console :)

That is true, and I reckon angry birds would go quite well with the Wii U as a console as well, in terms of how you use it.

I still can't believe how far this game has come from one, relatively simple, app! Well done to their developers!

I know they should just have stuck with the mobile one.

They simply shouldn't have made as much versions as they did, the game would of sold better in the long term if they ended up keeping the original one and not making any extras.
