Battlefield 4 will sell 14M, can “coexist successfully” with CoD

4.5
Battlefield 4 will sell 14 million units, according to Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia, but notes that both it and Call of Duty: Ghosts can “coexist successfully” in the market even with both hitting retail within a week of each other.

In the note, Bhatia predicted one-third of all Battlefield 4 sales would come through PC, but that only 10% of Call of Duty: Ghosts sales would be through PC.

Sounds about right.

Bhatia said Grand Theft Auto 5′s release is far enough ahead of both titles which would “limit overlap,” and he feels Skylanders will remain the market leader in the toys-to-life genre – even with Disney Infinity looming.

Woobie I know for a fact I will be buying both, I used to be a CoD fanboy back in the day but Battlefield puts out games that are just as good if not better.

True, those graphics and gameplay are awesome! I love sniping on both of them, COD for quickscoping, BF for being stealthy and actually sniping like it should be.

Oh I'm sorry I didn't know "real sniping" involved hit markers.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize that war involved a bunch of 10 year old children dashing around a yacht with sniper rifles and somehow not dislocating their shoulders when firing, don't even start on realism.

MicroSonyPC They tried the same thing like 2 years ago with MW3 and BF3, COD won.

I don't see what will be different this time.

highmjw13 They can coexist because they target two different audiences. CoD targets 12 year olds who only care about being a 1337 quickscoper or just sit in a corner with their SMGs trying to get their kill streaks. Battlefield targets players who will actually play the objective and want to win. I'm not trying to troll or be stereotypical in this, I'm being serious. This is what I've experienced in both games. I also find Battlefield a lot less frustrating and more enjoyable to play.

12 year olds are in every FPS game, over exaggerating much? People camp in BF too, don't try to pretend they don't. And just like every other fps game you have people who play the objective, and you have people who just want to get kills.

I find COD to be a lot less frustrating because I can rarely get people to work together in Battlefield unless we all have mics. In COD even if my team is terrible, I can still carry them.

People camp on bf3 because on bf3 if your a recon or something like that, thats just what your meant to do

But COD's still better though

And you're correct with that. Battlefield is more of a team based objective game. It has more challenge to it with bullet drops and actual physics when it comes to vehicles, where as COD is more of a lone wolf type of game were it's simple and as you said can sit in a corner the whole match and still win.

Sashagrey I would love to see who will win at the end of 2014 in sales, call of duty series or battlefield, i also think Grand theft auto 5 has a decent to get close to the same sales.

Probably cod, most of them will buy the same game... like 5 times lol

COD better not win. Battlefield and GTA are so much better than COD.

BDB Idc, I'm getting them both, 2 great games because I like men ;)

Cod a great game they didn't even bother to make a new engine,"Oh look fish can move out of the way when you swim" you have to be kidding me

Battlefield 4 is using Frostbite 3 which is an upgraded engine of Frostbite 2. Which means just like COD, it isn't a new engine.
