Minecraft PC sales top 11 million

Minecraft sales have topped 11 million copies on PC, Mac and Linux, according to Marcus 'Notch' Persson, the creator of the smash hit.

Sales of the world building game across all platforms have now surpassed 27 million units.

In May, it was announced that Minecraft Pocket Edition had sold over 10 million copies, while Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition hit six million sales in late March.

A retail version of Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition will be released in the UK this Friday, June 28, while an Xbox One version of Minecraft was announced earlier this month.

Here's what we said in our 9/10 Minecraft: Xbox 360 review: "Whether you're mining, crafting, building, or fighting - either alone, or with friends - there's nothing quite like Minecraft. An accomplished, streamlined port that's a perfect fit for Xbox 360."

Following Minecraft's "freak" success, Persson said in April that he's feeling the pressure of expectation. His next title is a first-person space game called 0x10c.

I never really got to play PC minecraft comfortably because of my terrible computer but I do enjoy the game as a whole

BDB I expected that, MineCraft is an amazing game that deserved to get that much sales! Even more.


I'm sure there will be more to come


I hope that they continue to support and constantly update Minecraft well into the future

I don't really mind to be honest. Minecraft is a great game and worth the money that they are asking for it

Those were the good days, I remember playing when Seananners made his let's play.


I remember I could never handle the game with a steady 15 fps on low... now I get more than 60 :D
