Nintendo Reversing it's Lets Play Copyright Claim Policy?
After many of these popular Youtuber's stated that they will no longer be doing these Lets Plays because there was no monetary incentive, Nintendo realized that the value of these streams as advertising tools, as some are reporting the return of their revenue stream.
According to Reggie Fils-Aime at E3, the move was done to protect Nintendo’s IP and not against any one YouTube personality.
“The fans need to understand that we see the issue, we understand the issue, but, right now, all we’ve done is take the first step to protect our IP.”
Nintendo filed claims on YouTube to claim the content as its own in order to hold up to copyright and trademark laws, but they seem to acknowledge that providing thse players with a financial incentive to continue playing their games and bringing them to the public eye is better than not having those games on YouTube at all.

This is stupid. Game companies get nothing but more money from lets plays. It's like free advertisement.

var Its good that they are doing this.
Maybe for Nintendo, but it isn't fair to the YouTubers doing the lets plays. They are only doing this cause they are desperate for money.

ShadowBoltDashieKatsumiRATFKatsumiShadowBoltDashieKatsumiBDB Really? It's basicly free advertising for them... Wow Nintendo -.-
It's not really a great decision in my opinion. I myself have brought some games just because i have seen a you tuber play them, Nintendo should have just left it alone
I don't think I have bought a game because of a YouTuber but I have bought a console in the past for a game that I wanted to try out. The same thing is going to happen with the Wii U once the new SSB is released.
I think watching someone play the game simply gives me a push when it comes to buying it. I have never brought a game that i don't think will be interesting.
i always look into a game before buying it
It's good to do your research before hand. I always look into the game atleast a little bit before i decide to make a purchase also
The problem I have with that is I don't want to spoil the game for me. Now I have no problem in watching a gameplay based on the game as long as they don't have anything that will spoil something in the game.
yh i mean sometimes the do but its mostly like a bonus mission or half a mission so it doesn't affect your judgement
