Fix coming to PS3 4.45 firmware June 27

Earlier this week, PlayStation 3 users began reporting that the most recent firmware update, 4.45, was rendering consoles unusable. Sony has now announced that a fix for the malfunctioning firmware will be released on Thursday, June 27. A post on the US PlayStation 3 support forum reads:

We have identified the issue related to the PlayStation 3 software update (version 4.45) that impacted a small number of PS3 systems earlier this week. A new PS3 system software update is planned to be released on June 27 that resolves the issue. Thank you for your patience and understanding and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Any further updates to the issue will be made on the same forum thread, so affected users may want to add it to their bookmarks.

LOL, PS cant even update there own consoles with out braking there own systems on them, God help the people, who are buying the PS4 (Big Mistake)

People were posting like crazy about it on Facebook a few nights ago. I think even WhiteBoy7thst mentioned something about it and there were a lot of comments from people talking about it happening to them as well.

theres no need to be afraid of the ps4, thats why there a price to play online so it will take care of the costs for the maintenance

iJarH3ad That's why I never touch play station. Sony had so many problems with Play Station especially for hacks or unable to play more than a week. That never happen to xbox. If xbox is down, mostly likely that it back online in few hours unlike Play station.


Lol true. I play xbox 98% of the time and after all this I was like "Bet it dont brick my ass." Well. I was wrong mine bricked. Glad I'm not a heavy ps3 user.


Sony gets hit that hard with stuff? I'm not a Sony player so I'm not too sure with everything that happens to them.


Neither had a flawless run. They both ran into some complications. But if they can't fix (better yet, prevent) them by now, they shouldn't release a new console or it'll be a clumsy launch.


Yeah I'm hoping there are no major problems with the new consoles on release date.
