Xbox One will require an internet connection 'once every day'

4.4
While there are no sweeping mandatory always-online requirement for Xbox One games, new official Microsoft comments suggest the console will need an internet connection regularly.
When asked by Kotaku how regularly the Xbox One will require an internet connection when playing a single player game, Harrison responded: "I believe it's 24 hours."

When questioned whether the user will need to connect online once every day, Harrison responded: "correct".

Harrison's comments elaborate on information on the official Xbox news site. According to that site, "[Xbox One] does not have to be always connected, but Xbox One does require a connection to the Internet.

"We're designing Xbox One to be your all-in-one entertainment system that is connected to the cloud and always ready. We are also designing it so you can play games and watch Blu-ray movies and live TV if you lose your connection."

I'm still a little touchy with getting the new Xbox. I've never had a problem with connecting to XBL but sometimes I just unplug my Xbox 360 from the internet because I'm not using it. I'll wait till E3 to decide if I'm getting the new console though.

Thanks Microsoft, we pay for a Xbox one, internet from our providers, and now Xbox live gold everyday.

PlatedMeat Microsoft has already big amount of money
MICROSOFT IS TOO F*UCKED UP

If you do read on, it says that the console will still be capable of playing games and what not without a connection. Calm down man, as long as your connected one part of the day should not be a problem.

THIS IS MAYBE THE MOST STUPIDEST IDEA EVER
Not everyone have proper 24/7 internet connection or some people doesn't even have internet
Microsoft will lose their clients just beacause of this STUPID IDEA
I was PlayStation fan boy from PS1 to PS2 then i got Xbox 360 but i think IF i keep on playing i will go for PC or PS4

TrojanOG Im still not totally fixed on getting the Xbox One, I know it'll definitely change a lot of things in the community and I have no problem with the online connection everyday. Theres a few things I don't like but then a few upgrades I felt the Xbox 360 needed.

Same with me bro.

thecaniac17 I really don't want to believe anything posted here on this site. Everything that was posted before the release of the XBOX ONE was false information. I will wait till E3 to learn more about this before I make my buying decision. I'm skeptical of both consoles at this point.

that's what im thinking to, like what if I wanted to take my xbox to my cabin which don't have internet? this is supid
