PS6 Leak May Have Already Revealed Console’s Release Date

4.7
A previous PS6 release date leak may have just been confirmed under our noses. It’s been four years since Sony released the PS5 in 2020, seven years after the release of the PS4. If history were to repeat itself, then the PS6 would release in 2027, however, it does not look like history is going to repeat itself.

Three years after the release of the PS4, Sony released the PS4 Pro in 2016. Fast-forward, and now four years after the release of the PS5, Sony has released the PS5 Pro. Now, between the release of the PS4 Pro in 2016 and the PS5 in 2020 is four years. If this repeats, then that would put the PS6 releasing in 2028. And here is where things get a little more interesting.

Back in 2023, internal Microsoft documents leaked online. And within these documents it was mentioned that the release date of the next Xbox and the PS6 was 2028, or least that is what Microsoft was anticipating. Now, it is possible the details of these documents have washed to time, however, this lines up with the aforementioned timing involving the PS5 Pro. In fact, the release of the PS5 Pro may have just confirmed this previous leak.

It is worth noting the PS4 Pro came a year quicker than the PS5 Pro, so it is possible the gap between the PS5 Pro and the PS6 will be one year longer than the gap between the PS4 Pro and the PS5. If so, this would put PS6 in 2029, but this seems unlikely. That would be a generation of nine years, two years longer than the PS4 generation, and this doesn’t line up with the previous leak.

Further, new spec leaks suggest the console is not this far away. In fact, the spec leaks suggest it may even be closer than 2028. To this end, while a 2029 release is unlikely, a 2027 release can not be ruled out. This would give the PS5 the same lifespan as the PS4.

HiFi Happy to say I've switched to PC.

YOU SHOULD TOO :)

not alot of people want to deal with the headache that is linux and windows(its very easy to brick linux because everythings done via terminal, the app managers are always outdated so no arguments about that) windows love to be bricking itself after updates after updates,
plus not to mention you have to always upgrade every couple years just to play the exact same game you can play on console at half the price,
plus dealing with buying pc parts and they end up being doa yeah not worth the hassle,

consoles are just plug and play systems no need to upgrade at all for 10+ years until the next 500$ console releases which is always 10+ years,
also on pc its a pretty dead platform if you play multiplayer games,
pc is also the easiest to cheat on which is why its not at all fun anymore,
all my fav games are dead(0 to 2k people playing the game with the ones playing the game every game is filled with someone cheating)
those same games are not dead and have over 45k to 100k players still playing after years of its original launch with near 0 cheaters why because its near impossible to mod the last gen and current generation of consoles as all jailbreaks are offline only,
that said remote play with specific mod tools is very rare and hardly used,

if you use controllers on pc you might as well just play on console at that point,

but yeah people just whats something to just work which a shocker to everyone consoles just work,
you dont need to do stupid pointless workarounds just to play a game that should just work at 1080p 60fps on high end systems,

i cant explain how many times i keep going back to my xbox and playstation just because a game i wanted to play with my friends refuses to launch or tells me my drivers are out of date when they are up to date or gives me the stupid visual studio dll files not found error when all the visual studio files are installed,

so yeah i wouldnt say people should switch to pc when most people arent tech savvy, and alot of people dont want to play with cheaters.

anyways on to the topic itself not a surprise news about the ps6 is going around its almost 10years,
consoles always release every 10years so people shouldnt be surprised by it.
