Star Wars Outlaws Has A Few Cameos From Original Trilogy Characters

4.8
Star Wars Outlaws has a few surprising cameos from original trilogy characters during its main campaign, although I bet you can already guess who one of them is.

Although Star Wars Outlaws does manage to make itself stand apart from other games in the series by having several open-worlds to explore, there is one thing very familiar about it - its timeline placement. Just like The Force Unleashed, Jedi: Fallen Order, Jedi: Survivor, and countless other Star Wars games, Outlaws takes place during the Original Trilogy, specifically after Empire Strikes Back.

Outlaws' cameos happen pretty late into the main campaign, so here's your obligatory spoiler warning.

You know what that means, right? Cameos! With Outlaws taking place when several major characters are still active, it was inevitable that a few characters pop up here and there, even if it's not a lightsaber-focused adventure like Cal's was. There are a few interesting cameos to look out for, including one that's a bit more surprising than the other.

Let's get the more surprising character out of the way first - Boba Fett. During a mission on Tatooine, Kay and Nix end up separated, which leads to a bit of a rescue mission. As you can see in the video from YouTuber GameClips above, that mission also results in a brief cameo from Boba Fett, who can be seen through one of the vents looking at a hologram target.

Fett doesn't appear anywhere else in the story, but it's a nice nod to the character that makes sense considering how closely he was tied with Jabba the Hutt in Return of the Jedi. He's probably just hanging around Han Solo's carbonite statue so he can brag about capturing the bounty hunter.

And, of course, it wouldn't be a modern Star Wars game without some kind of appearance from Darth Vader. In Outlaws, he has two - one where he shows up in a cutscene with Sliro and shows him a taste of what the Dark Side can do, and another near the end of the game where he pops up in a hologram call.

It's probably a good thing that Vader doesn't show up in the flesh while Kay Vess is around or her adventure would come to a very swift end. While those are the major cameos within Outlaws, there are likely a bunch of other references to the wider Star Wars universe as well that are waiting to be uncovered.
