Halo Infinite is a Grenade-Jumper's Paradise Thanks to Recent Update

4.3
343 Industries has confirmed a huge change to grenades in Halo Infinite, which turns the game into a grenade-jumper's paradise. Previously, grenade-jumping was possible in Halo Infinite, although it wasn't quite as effective as in previous entries in the series until now.

The launch of Halo Infinite in 2021 was nothing short of a fiasco, with many left wondering what was planned for release a year prior, before it was eventually delayed. However, in the years since, 343 Industries has done a fantastic job of updating the game with consistent new content and bringing it up to the standard expected of a Halo game. Just recently, Halo Infinite revealed huge Forge update plans, confirming that the game's powerful map-making tools are getting even better going forward. With support for the game still ongoing, it's a great time to be a fan of the game.

In a post on Halo Waypoint, 343 Industries confirmed that grenades will be receiving a tuning buff on July 30, when Operation: Fleetcom launches for Halo Infinite. According to the post, "The impulse for Fragmentation, Plasma, and Spike grenade physics has been increased and tuned to give you increased jump height and provide more opportunity to hit those coveted grenade jumps." This is a huge buff to grenade jumps, which long-time fans of the Halo series will be very happy about. A video posted on YouTube by 343 Industries shows the before-and-after differences that the new update will make.

While it may seem like a small addition, the Halo sandbox is one of the most iconic parts of the franchise, so the lack of powerful grenade jumps was really felt during gameplay. Ultimately, it raises the skill ceiling of the game, giving those with the bravery to try a grenade jump the edge. Importantly, it's another example of 343 Industries taking player feedback on board and acting on it, which is why Halo Infinite is now arguably one of the best Halo games. It'll be interesting to see how the freshly-buffed grenade jumps impact gameplay on the maps that already exist in Halo Infinite, as it could cause a small shift in the meta for some.

Although 343 Industries continues to update Halo Infinite, there are some gamers who already have their eyes on what is coming next for the franchise. While the developer remains coy about any potential sequel, it was recently revealed that Halo 7 has a new lead designer, with Dan Gniady coming on board as a lead designer for the next game in the series. It isn't clear how far along this title is, but hopefully, Halo Infinite still has plenty of life left yet.

I've always been terrible at grenade jumping... It's always been a staple of Halo, shocking that it wasn't in Infinite until now.
