Wii U system update next week, details coming today

Today's Nintendo Direct event may be 3DS focused, but we can also expect some Wii U news.

According to Nintendo Everything, the platform holder will today provide details on April's Wii U system update, which is reportedly scheduled for release next week.
Last month, Nintendo released a video showing how this month's system update will more than halve loading times when closing a game and returning to the main menu.

In February, Nintendo said that it has set in train two separate Wii U system updates to remedy loading and lag times. The second is due for release in the autumn.

They really should have had this update on the machine when the first released it. It's almost as if they made a horrible mistake and now their trying to help fix it... But, the mistake is un-repairable.

Azare Handheld consoles are just a bad investment.

I agree, handhelds haven't had good sales for a couple years so why try to bring to it back

the Nintendo 3DS was not a bad investment it was very successful

They should have stopped at the Wii. The Nintendo 64 was awesome and the Wii was okay (only because of Wii sports) but when the Wii U came out no one bought it except for parents with little kids.

Stop it. Do you guys even read up on this stuff, or is everyone just bashing Nintendo because it's the "cool" thing to do?

The first Wii was a HUGE success. Motion gaming was epic, and even Microsoft and Sony took the idea off of them. The WiiU, although sales were lower than expected, is a GREAT console. Just because they didn't sell a billion copies doesn't mean only kids and parents bought them. You guys make me sick.
