Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition sales top 6 million

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has sold more than 6 million copies, it has been announced.

Xbox 360 developer 4J Studios made the announcement on Twitter earlier this week: "Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has now sold over SIX MILLION copies !!!"

It is the latest milestone for a game that sold 15 million copies on all platforms in 2012, including 4.2 million units in December.

The news comes ahead of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition's imminent North American retail release.

Launching on April 30, the retail edition will contain the same content as the XBLA version, and will include all of the game's title updates.

The game is being considered for PlayStation devices once Mojang's contract with Microsoft expires.

phlegm Not a surprise. This is one of the best games of the year, people without PCs buy it on the 360. I have it on both though :)

Don't see why they don't just get all of the updates from PC not just certain ones? I understand it takes time but that will only increase sales
