Next gen Xbox disk installation required

4.2
Earlier today, a few images of the "Microsoft Durango XDK Documentation Setup" leaked on the internet. This document is for licensed game developers only, and it reveals tons of unannounced information regarding the next-gen Xbox to the public. Much more has been added to the documentation since the last time it was leaked.

What really threw us off was the following:
"All games will be installed on the hard drive. Play from optical disc will not be supported."

What do you think? We'd say this is proof that they will include, at least, a 320GB hard drive in the base console at launch.

We also noticed that upon installation of the documentation, all of the tools and plugins needed for developers to create games are installed to Visual Studio 2012. Older versions of Visual Studio seem to have been abandoned.

Published only being able to download games on the xbox is a bad idea, some people have Xboxes for offline gaming and do not have internet. Also that's just another attempt to stop people from pirating games. You watch Microsoft, your plan will fail

You don't need internet to download games...? You put the disc in the tray. Press X and press A... Then it installs..?

Codec That's crazy on how much they're doing for the next gen console. 320 gigabytes is an insane amount of memory!

Storage.. Not memory.

Back to the main topic. I don't see why we don't just buy games on flash drives and play off those.. :/

I think its a good thing, and a stupid thing. But they better have a big enough HDD, and not some 4gb hdd like in the slim

DSR This sucks, no more used names

After Sony confirmed that their console can play used games, it would be economical suicide for them to block used games and a quick path to where Sega is now.

well, that's nice, as long as they give us enough space for all the installed games.

If you guys are able to read it, the thing says "play from the optical disk is not supported".
