Bungie's 'Destiny' to require a permanent online connection.

4.7
It was recently announced that Bungie's next shooter, Destiny, will require an internet connection in order to play, the studio confirmed at a press event.

The 'Shared World Shooter' will require a permanent online connection to power its persistent, emerging world, the studio stated.

"It's a persistent, shared and connected world, so you will need to be connected to the internet to play Destiny."

Destiny - which publisher Activision calls the world's first shared-world shooter - is built around co-op play and will include elements which are familiar to the massively multiplayer online genre (MMO), such as a persistent world, areas packed with players and quests designed to challenge sizeable groups.

Destiny was confirmed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but the studio would not confirm a release on next-gen platforms, or PC.

SOG So this will be like Sim city...? Not good. They may have better servers though.

All servers are better than EA servers.

2K sports has awful servers as well.

Battlefield 3 servers are amazing, they are from EA are they not? I think it's different branches of EA though.

yeah certain parts of EA suck when it comes to servers, SimsCity is one of those parts.
