EA exec: It is unlikely the next Xbox will play Xbox 360 games

An executive for Electronic Arts has recently claimed that we should not expect Xbox 360 games to run on the next-gen Xbox, nor should owners of the next Playstation expect to play PS3 games on the PS4.

Sources report that EA chief financial officer, Blake Jorgensen, said "An important thing to remember is that next-gen consoles will most likely not be backwards compatible… And if you play multiplayer on a game, you'll most likely not be able to play with someone on a different generation."

The more information released the less likely it is to sell good. The new gen of consoles sound like absolute crap.

Here's a novel idea for those of you out there complaining...

Why not keep your Xbox 360 that you ALREADY HAVE and play x360 games? Mind-blowing, I know, can't believe I thought of it myself.

Not being backward compatible is a cost saving maneuver. Look at the first gen PS3...$600 for full backward compatibility!!

Be happy that you may be able to purchase this next gen Xbox with the purported specs out there for less than $400!

Im actually looking forward to the next-gen Xbox. Some stuff doesn't make sense but that is just us seeing something new instead of the same 360 for the past 8 years. Can't wait to see how it plays out.

I hope you guys know that these are all rumors. None of the stuff on here is confirmed by microsoft. So there is still a very slim chance that they will make the next-gen xbox backwards compatible

Microsoft are not stupid, they will make the lower class games work like 360 on a 720, they will make it work on that platform.
