Mario Party 3 is the next N64 game coming to Switch Online

Nintendo has announced that Mario Party 3 is the next game set to be added to Switch Online’s Nintendo 64 library.

The third game in the Mario Party series will be added to the service on Friday, October 27.

Although it’s mainly considered a multiplayer party game, Mario Party 3 is also the first entry in the series to have a proper single-player Story, rather than a linear solo mode where the mini-games are simply played in order.

The game boasts 71 mini-games, and introduces smaller Dual Boards to the series, which are designed with only two players in mind.

When it comes to Switch Online on Friday, Mario Party 3 will bring the total list of N64 games on Switch Online up to 26 in the west, following the addition of Excitebike 64 and Pokémon Stadium 2 in August.

Once Mario Party 3 is added, the full list of N64 titles on the service will be as follows:
Dr Mario 64
Excitebike 64
F-Zero X
GoldenEye 007
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Mario Golf
Mario Kart 64
Mario Party
Mario Party 2
Mario Party 3
Mario Tennis
Paper Mario
Pilotwings 64
Pokémon Puzzle League
Pokémon Snap
Pokémon Stadium
Pokémon Stadium 2
Sin & Punishment
Star Fox 64
Super Mario 64
Wave Race 64
Yoshi’s Story

Switch Online’s Expansion Pack tier launched in October 2021 alongside a library of Nintendo 64 games. This was initially met with frustration from some players, due to emulation issues and a lack of features including button mapping.

However, regular updates to the service have seen the emulation improve, and now most major issues have been remedied.

Nintendo has confirmed that 1080° Snowboarding and Harvest Moon 64 will be added to the N64 library in the future.
