Sony: "We'll let Microsoft announce their console first"

Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai says Sony will allow Microsoft to announce their Next-Gen console first. As we all know, the next generation of consoles will more than likely be released this year. But despite speculation regarding their existence, they still have yet to be officially announced. In a recent interview with The Times, Hirai said Sony will wait for Microsoft to announce their plans first, before unveiling the next PlayStation console. "Why go first, when your competitors can look at your specifications and come up with something better?" Hirai's statement would tie in with previous history, as the 360 was announced before Sony revealed its PS3 back in 2005. Sony has also been adamant that they want to release their next-gen console before Microsoft this time around.

well 8 cores don't mean anything. plus look back when the ps3 come out it had blu ray witch xbox tried to get of them so Microsoft tried to copy sony so really if you lot are going to fight over the next console its really sad

Oasis So Sony want to release theirs first but want Microsoft to announce first? This tells me two things, 1: Sony has no idea what to expect this year 2: They are willing to undercut Microsoft by copying their design then basically rush to market a half arsed console because they don't have the capital to splash out on R&D.

It's not the tech or the structure that put me off Sony, it's their attitude.


Exactly! I personally think that their attitude is really unprofessional and unorganized.

Let's all have no faith in year work and millions spent developing a console which will easily be outsold. In-fact, let's copy our rivals!

if they do this then they can easilly copy some of the xbox stuff :L just like paypal but i will still buy both anyway :D xbox is rumoured to be 8core processor and 8gb ram i wonder if the new xboxes can be jtaged or rghed cos im a big fan of modding being a modder since cod 4 and will never stop unless the new xbox cant be jtaged but some1 will find a way

I can't wait! Its rumored to be 8 core cpus, 8GB ram AMD 8000M it would cost Sony way to much to top that!

That is probably true but I grew up on PS1 then I got a Xbox and I've been an xbox man ever since!

I really don't think they "Let" Them. Microsoft isn't going to be like "Oh yeah we will wait". It's a competition.
