The Next-Generation Xbox could have an eight-core CPU, according to new leaks.

4.7
It is rumored that an ex-Ubisoft employee known as 'BD' claims to know all information about the upcoming Next-Generation console from Microsoft, including the RAM, and much more.
According to him, the Next-Gen Xbox will have an eight-core CPU, and an 8800 series GPU. Whilst rumors are still going around about the new console running on a AMD HD 8000M graphics card.
It is also rumored that Microsoft will be using Windows 8 kernel for the system, which is to be expected, as they have been pushing it out a lot. He said that it will have 8 GB memory and a 640 GB hard drive.
Sources also say that Microsoft has refined DirectX 11 for a "fixed hardware gaming platform."
Please treat this like any other rumor, as nothing is confirmed yet. However, these are times when insiders can leak out information for a variety of reasons. E3 2013 will be held on June 13, so not long to go before Microsoft finally unveils the system to the world.

What are your thoughts on this?

If these specs are true, then the console will probably cost a lot.

Hub Why would you want a 640gb HDD , i have a 320gb at the moment and haven't even used 40gb of it

Have you ever installed a game. It runs a whole lot smoother and hardly ever freezes.

Yeah i agree with you.

also i'd assume ms will be trying to expand to more digital sales of games vs hard copies,so you would need a decent hhd.also my 250 is just about full, its not hard to fill hdds if you install the games or download off the marketplace.

Gekko So this is going to be around $450, right?

Yes around 300-400 which is a reasonable price for a new console

Xbox 360 Will lose its value.

It's looking like it

I don't think it is possible for this to be under 450. I know what the recent article said.

But a while ago when the 99 dollar xbox 360s came with the 2 year contract. There was an article on here and the guy from Microsoft said that this sale model was going to be very important to the next gen console.

Take this as you may. But I took this as the next console is going to be extremely expensive. I don't know much about computers but I'm pretty sure You can't buy one with an 8 core cpu, 8gb ram, what I assume to be a good gpu, and a 640 gb hard drive for 450 dollars. I don't think Microsoft plans on making all there profit solely from the sales of games as it also seems it will be on a "free to play format".

I think the next gen console will be sold like a cell phone. "You want the latest and greatest smartphone. Give me 700....Or 100 if you sign your soul away to this 2 year contract." I believe this is how video game consoles will be sold to.

If anyone disagrees with me please reply on here. I would like to here how you see it.
