Call of Duty movie unlikely

4.7
Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has said that despite the campaign for Call of Duty being very cinematic, he has no interest in making the franchise into a movie.

Kotick has already turned down multiple requests from various studios that have offered to turn gamings biggest franchise into a movie. Kotick says movies based on video games rarely please devoted fans and could taint the brand.

Call of Duty makes up an estimated one-third of Activision’s more than $4 billion in annual revenue, so they certainly wouldn't want to do anything that could cause it harm.

Game-to-Movie adaptations have never worked very well, but if anyone knows of one that was actually good then please let us know.

The movie would consist of sqeaks and modders lagging servers. Aside from that, there's too many series to make a consistant storyline.

There's only two story lines, Modern warfare and Black ops. 3 if you count zombies. Modern warfare would make a better movie though because the story is more cinematic and emotional for die-hard players.

I doubt the story lines of the games before CoD 4 would be near as successful as Modern warfare or black ops.
Somebody hasn't played any Call of Duty before number 4...

If they took a true gamers perspective on this movie, it would be great. If they took Hollywoods, it would be horrible.

Tbh, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time wasn't too bad. But then again, they had amazing funding and Disney backing so it's expected too come out somewhat decent :P They also didn't follow the plot very well :P

Ankoku Nope game to movie things are always horrible.

I agree with you completly I feel that they would somehow mess it up. As they normally do with books and other such nonsense.
