Dark Souls II Announced

4.7
The sequel (or maybe prequel) to Dark Souls was announced at the Spike Videogame Awards. The Souls series found an extremely passionate and dedicated fan base due to its non-hand holding nature, unforgiving difficultly and cruel boss battles.

Game Directors Tomohiro Shibuya and Yui Tanimura have taken over from the previous director of the series and have announced that they want to make the game “more accessible” to newer players of the series. Which has caused a small backlash from the series' most hardcore fans, as they don't want the game being dumbed down. After all it was the game's unrelenting difficultly and sense that players get no free guidance, that has made it popular.

Fans of the series have said they don't want Dark Souls II to become just another AAA game, pointing to games that tell players exactly where to go and what to do.

But no where have FromSoftware and Namco Bandi said they would make the game easier, only more accessible. We'll have to wait and see what they really mean by this.

All I ask is they improve PvP, encourage trading, & make it less impossible to play with your friends.

Diesel I'm currently playing Dark Souls:PTD Edition for Xbox360 and i'm loving it. It's nice to have a single player game that's genuinely hard (altho quite frustrating at times) and that I can't complete in a day or two.
Its been years since any game held my attention for so long, so def look forward to the new one. But I don't want them to nerf the difficultly for the sake of a few new players.

I agree. There is no point in a single player that is too easy and can be completed quickly.
