Fox & Friends gets 'fair and balanced' with Modern Warfare 2 discussion

4.4

Did you know that there's a murderer in your house ... right now? It's sitting there on your coffee table, in your Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, or PC. It's name is Modern Warfare 2, and it lets your eight-year-old child become a terrorist and kill people. Our pals at Fox & Friends got together for a "fair and balanced" discussion about the game's controversial airport scene, with the show's host Steve Doocy inviting Common Sense Media's Jim Steyer and /gamer's Jon Christensen into the fray.
Unsurprisingly, Steyer makes the oft-cited connection between violent games and real-life violence. And when Doocy gives Christensen the final word, he cobbles together an anecdote about his friend the retail manager not selling copies of Modern Warfare 2 to underage consumers, which is met with, "You bring a game into a house, nothing to stop an eight-year-old kid from becoming a terrorist and shooting people" from Doocy. So far, we haven't received any reports of the game sneaking its way into people's homes or making parents blind and unaware of their children's actions, but we'll keep our ears to the ground via Joystiq

Things like wind me up. They banned a game on the PS2 I played with my Uncle for being too violent, it was called Man Hunt or something like that.

Just because kids do this on a game it doesnt mean they are going to do it in real life.

Kids play Banjo&Kazzoe or whatever it's called, do they get a Bear and get a Bird to play around with it and do stupid missions ? No.

People need to get a grip and sort thier heads out, Kids are not going to turn into terrorists.

Idiots.

I looked at it from two sides. As a father I would never let my kids see or play this game. After playin about 15 sec. of that mission. I was like dam, this is the widest thing i have every seen on a game and with Ft. Hood and Fl. on our minds. It went to FAR. But as a person who has been playing games for over 20 yrs. its just a game! with a min. age limit. That most people use.Its the people who dont--thats what worrys me.

You can choose if you want to play it and most people have the common sense to not go around and go on a mass killing spree

This is sorta stupid, Parents should be responsible enough to know wat their kid is doing, and if he turns into a terrorist, well then u had some mental problems lol

Why are people getting all hyped up about the mission: No Russian

Its a game, ppl have to stop whining and get over it

If they dont have any common sence to realise its a game, they could skip it or just turn off there xbox and go for a walk
