Black Ops 2: First week UK CoD sales reportedly down 20% year-on-year

UK launch week sales of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 were reportedly down over 20 per cent compared to those achieved by last year's series release, Modern Warfare 3.

That's according to the latest issue of MCV, which claims to have been informed of the annual drop off in sales by UK retailers.
Nevertheless the shooter still enjoyed a very strong launch. Retail monitor Chart Track said on Monday that Black Ops 2 recorded the biggest UK launch of 2012 and the fourth largest of all time.

Black Ops 2's first week sales have only previously been bettered by 2010's original Call of Duty: Black Ops, last year's Modern Warfare 3 and 2009's Modern Warfare 2, although it should be noted that each of those titles launched on more than three platforms.

Black Ops 2 released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC last Tuesday, while a Wii U version will launch alongside Nintendo's new console on November 30.

The campaign on this game was insane. But as usually the multiplayer fails to impress me.

Activ8 That's not surprising. MW3 didn't help give motivation for people to play COD anymore, and the trailers were a little sketchy. I myself thought twice about getting the game, since it looked a little bit too futuristic.


Thats totally the same as me, now i am annoyed that i didnt get it :(

Not surprised, people are always b*tching about CoD because they aren't good, and then they don't buy the game.
Blops 2 is actually awesome, much better than expected.

the only way they can improve cod now,is when a new console comes out which can do more the 60fps, when the ps4/xbox 720 comes out, thats when everything willchange, but for now,i like this call of duty, think they did a good job:)
