Report: 'Call of Duty 2013' continues Modern Warfare plot

4.5
Snippets of what's claimed to be next year's Call of Duty game have been leaked, along with first details for the in-development title.

Voice over recording for the game has begun in LA, according to Siliconera citing an anonymous source (whom the site says leaked Sleeping Dogs details before its Square Enix acquisition) .
CVG has contacted Activision for comment.

'Call of Duty 2013', as the source allegedly called it, will continue the Modern Warfare story arc, with the main protagonist apparently "a battle hardened veteran in his mid-thirties with a nihilistic point of view", codenamed 'Ben Burk'.

One scene in the game - apparently a flashback - is said to feature John 'Soap' MacTavish and take place in Somalia.

Below are what's claimed to be snippets of the script for the main character.

"Reminds you of Phuket, doesn't it? Only this time the dust gives you cancer... OK, park yourself and get ready. When this thing kicks off, put a hole in anything that moves."

"This is Sentinel Zero One, successful crypto change on C2 net break, requesting immediate update of blue force picture and status of artillery, over. I have you broken and unreadable, I say again, requesting updates to friendly positions and status of arty support. Do you read, over?"

"We've got KVA on the move! They're going to strongpoint the main gate, ETA two mikes! We're providing support for our heavy rollers! Ready up and let's move!"

"Goliath, this is Sentinel Zero One! We have enemy armor at the gate, hundred meters north of our position! Requesting close-air grid mark three-one-six!"

I want something new from infinity ward not little upgrades :/

The fact that they are even thinking of continuing the MW series is sickening. Infinity Ward has trashed CoD since MW2. MW2 was a kids game and MW3 was a $60 map pack. I'm not a Treyarch fan boy, but at the very least, they are trying to step outside the box and give the series a new feel. Anyone that says BO2 is crap due to bugs or lag is a moron and should be put down. MW has had it's series of bugs and game breaking glitches. So, instead of riding in IW's lap, why don't you open your mind a little bit and realize that IW and Activision are not gods. They found something you liked and exploited it. Ran it into the ground and made it so easy that an eight-year-old could pick it up and be amazing at it.

aimiami12 Never looked more forward to a call of duty. I already hate black ops 2, the game sucks. IW goes for the home run and treyarch is conservative. MW series was a homerun up until mw3.

You say Treyarch is conservative, yet each game they made has been in a completely new setting and had a new feel to it. Treyarch went from WWII, to Vietnam/Coldwar, and now to the Future.

You say IW goes for the "home-run", yet stays in their comfort zone and produces the same game with the exact same guns and setting ( MW1/2/3 )

Your statement is backwords, my friend.

and you mention backwards without even mentioning the fact that Treyarch make each of their Games worse than the last in terms of multiplayer. each game screws something up that the last one did right where as IW sure they are very similar weapons/equipment but they improve them each game as well as their Maps. currently Blackops 2 has been shipped as a completely broken game due to its many bugs and serious LAG issues

The only people that hate Black Ops 2 hate change or they hate that they actually have to try for a kill. You actually have to put more bullets into someone instead of in the MW's you just put 2 in and they die

Already talking about the next cod..

Quite shocked that there have already been some leaks for the next instalment in the Call of Duty series. Hopefully Infinity Ward don't ruin it and take a few ideas from Treyarch.

DopestDope_Eva OMG, Why cant CoD die yet?

it will never die

what I don't get is why people say halo is better it is the exact same game type

i agree with you that halo should have been stopped at number 3, and the only reason CoD is still going is because kids sadly want it. If people dont see that the game is near identical with every release, then they have a problem.

Ripe The last one just came out on Tuesday. Really?

The game is disappointing to some surprisingly. Some will have to look forward to another MW...
