David Vonderhaar: Commentaries are lame

4.7

David Vonderhaar, Game Design Director at Treyarch, has made it publicly known that "commentaries are lame". That's a pretty big statement considering how much of a positive effect Youtube and big commentators have on the Call of Duty community.

Below you will find a few images taken from MuzzaFuzza's Twitter account. Above are images from WhiteBoy7thSt and David Vonderhaar. For those of you who do not know, MuzzaFuzza and WhiteBoy7thSt are commentators on youtube with a total combined audience of 2 million people! That is a huge audience! What you may not have known about them, is apparently they are "lame".

As reported and proven time and time before, Mom and Pop shops that sell videogames are often easily swindled to sell you products once they receive them. Money talks, and these shop owners often listen! Games have been known to slip out of these stores up to two weeks early if you have enough cash on the table.

What are your opinions on people who legitimately buy the game early? Should they be punished with channel strikes, ban's and resets? Or is it fair game since they legally bought this game at a certified reseller?

I totally agree with David on this one. I hate watching commentaries with random gameplay or tards going 9001 - 0 on a game, but its exciting looking at a match between two people like Europe VS USA on CS GO. Now that was awesome and I enjoyed every bit of it.

Whiteboy sucks and is not funny at all I agree with david on some parts like whiteby videos hates random sh*t and not even funny. Muzzafuzza is ok but I hope whiteboy gets hacked and channel closed. Most people do not talk about the game they talk about real life problems and its annoying.

Hes probably just pissed they got the game early. It ain't for it 200$ just to get a game you can get in 4 days.

Commentaries did get boring. When the CoD YouTube scene blew up almost 3 years ago, commentaries were really fun to listen to. Now, you have some unprofessional video producer whining and the gameplay is just a backdrop. There is some good commentary out there, but even that isn't too entertaining.

I don't believe Muzza spent $200 for an early copy. He probably meant he'll pay what he has to pay. I'm guessing he spent $65, $70 TOPS.

I think David is right. For them to pay 200$ a copy makes them extremely stupid. Yes I believe these commentators are lame to pay that much extra for an early copy. I would only pay max 70$ to get the game 2+ days early. It's worked for every game I've done.

get the game early then you deserver your rights taken away to play it.

and i think game devs should be praising commentators, they advertise the game more than tv/internet ads do by the amount they upload.

I think if you buy the game nothing should happen, before the a store near me went out of business I would get every game I wanted like once they got the shipment in.
