Dying Light 2 To Receive Combat Overhaul In New Update Next Month

Dying Light 2: Stay Human will receive a significant update on April 20, which will introduce a new gear transmog system and a bunch of overhauls to the game's combat, according to a statement from Techland. A short teaser trailer for the next story DLC, which will be released later this year, has also been revealed.

During the Future Games Show event, Dying Light franchise director Tymon Smektala provided some tidbits on the next free update for Dying Light 2, confirming that it will bring new gear transmog options and major changes to the combat system. He also claimed that more support for mods and maps will be coming later in the year, saying: "Our next major game update will include significant improvements to our combat system, that will be even more brutal, physical, and rewarding for our players."

Aside from new tools for modders and revamped combat, Tymon assured players that they won't have to fret about choosing between combat styles, as the update brings with it new game features and enhancements. "Along with adding new game features and enhancements, players will no longer have to worry about choosing between style or stats with our new gear transmog system,” Tymon said.

Though no further details have been provided yet, the next story DLC received two concept arts that give survivors an early look at the new arc for the game's post-apocalyptic world.

Dying Light 2 is best known for its in-depth parkour system that allows players to travel all across the game's massive open world to meet allies, decimate zombies, and collect items. The upcoming update could be exciting for the loyal player base, as more gear transmog options and enhancements are on the way to relieve their hands in combat. Techland has been providing a steady stream of updates since the game's launch, and the next free update could be the most significant as part of the post-launch support.

The two DLC concept arts revealed by Techland look to expand the game's world with new locations, such as streets littered with plants and an asylum. The studio will seemingly take a different approach unlike it did with the Bloody Ties expansion, which just added an arena mode for intense battles.
