MW2 (PS3) patch brings back ‘Favela’ without “offensive” picture

A 17MB update went out to all Playstation 3 users today for Modern Warfare 2 to remove the supposed “offensive” picture frames in the MP map ‘Favela’.

A couple weeks ago someone put up a YouTube Video that caused quite a bit of controversy, which in turn caused Infinity Ward to remove Favela from all playlist. Now the map is back with minor modifications.

No word yet on when the Xbox 360 will receive the update.

I find it offensive that the picture is missing, should I make a youchoob video and voice my anger?

I thought this sort of extreme censorship only happened in soviet communist China.

To be honest, players made too big of a deal out of the temporary removal of Favela. I mean seriously, there are still like a dozen other maps to play on. As for Infinity Ward actually doing this, surely after coming on 3 years they would have noticed it, or at least not bothered too much about it. Hell, I am sure some over-seas games discriminate on other religons...

Well only people of that religion would really find it offensive, anyway it shouldn't be too long before Xbox gets the update...

Nice to see them working on removing the picture and adding it back in I figured they would keep favela off the game
