Ubisoft+ For Xbox Could Be Coming Soon As New Icons Discovered

3.7
According to a recent report by Windows Central, Xbox OS has been updated with new icons over the past month, including new "U+" transparent icons that are supposed to appear in the bottom left corner of game thumbnails, assumed to be a representation of the upcoming integration of Ubisoft+ on Xbox consoles.

In case you are not familiar with the Xbox iconography, Microsoft has a series of badges to indicate certain features or aspects of games. The platform uses these transparent icons to indicate EA Play titles as well as Xbox Game Pass titles. There is also another badge with an "X|S" mark to indicate current-gen-enhanced games. Now, the addition of "U+" and "U+ X|S" badges could indicate that Ubisoft+ titles are already being organised behind the scenes.

In early 2022, Ubisoft officially announced that it had plans to launch the Ubisoft+ subscription service on Xbox consoles, but over a year after the announcement, the French publisher still hasn't delivered the service to Xbox players. On PC, Ubisoft+ offers access to hundreds of games published by the company as well as day one access to the games launching in the future, but it remains unknown whether the Xbox version would deliver the same offers or we would receive a smaller scale service with a lower fee.

Moreover, there is no information on if Ubisoft+ would become an Xbox Game Pass integration similar to EA Play, but players could possibly be able to subscribe to a standalone version of the service in case they are interested in the offerings. Some of the popular Ubisoft titles such as For Honor, Rainbow Six Siege, and Rainbow Six Extraction have been available through Xbox Game Pass for a while now.

A different source has managed to gain access to the Xbox API in order to find out about the Ubisoft titles tagged with the recently added Ubisoft+ badge. While it doesn't include all Ubisoft games, there are some recently launched hits such as Far Cry 6, Riders Republic, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, and Scott Pilgrim vs the World: The Game.

Runts Man all these subscriptions get annoying

I avoid them at all costs. Monthly bills decrease one's freedoms. If you can keep the bills down, a lot more doors can open for you

more money for them to get off the players for nothing

I'm surprised that they are doing this given that most of Ubisofts games that are over two years old are available on Games Pass anyhow. I suppose we can expect newer releases that haven't reached game pads yet and potentially never will with this new service?
