Ziggurat Interactive is a publisher that specializes in preserving the past, as well as making sure our memories with classic games — even the DOS ones — do not have to disappear with the times, and Terminal Velocity is not any less important. The game lets players engage in 360-degree combat flight simulation across nine different planets with seven destructive weapons in their arsenal, and with the updates it has received in sound and gameplay, it should feel like a new experience altogether.
"Terminal Velocity was one of the most exciting and innovative shooters of the 1990s and being able to revitalize it for a modern audience is a dream come true," said Ziggurat's vice president, Kate Woods. "The team has worked hard to update the game and provide the definitive Terminal Velocity experience, and one that we're thrilled to share soon." It should be noted that it's not a straight-line game like other Shoot 'em ups, and the locations here span across 40,000 square miles of terrain and dozens of tunnels you can circumvent at your leisure.
Furthermore, the game has very low inertia mechanics, which allows players to bank, roll, and loop easily across many harsh maps, plus a straightforward control layout. Still, the game deserved a higher frame rate with how it gave players the ability to fly dynamically through tunnels and into underground caverns in realistic outdoor environments. The Steam version also adds achievements and trophies, and with them come a number of new fun challenges for veterans to enjoy.

The main designer of Terminal Velocity is Mark Randel, the former lead programmer of Microsoft Flight Simulator, and the founder of the Terminal Reality video game company, which worked on a variety of games, including racing, 3D action games, and more. The company re-released BloodRayne: Terminal Cut and BloodRayne 2: Terminal Cut with Ziggurat Interactive three years ago, and now the two companies have partnered again on an enhanced re-release of their first ever game and success story, Terminal Velocity.
