Street Fighter 6 Will Feature Thea Trinidad As A Commentator

Professional wrestler Thea Trinidad will lend her voice to Street Fighter 6 as a color commentator, Capcom has confirmed. That means players can choose to listen to her hype-up during matches as part of the game's Real-Time Commentary feature.

Trinidad is the newest addition to the in-game commentary roster, which also includes Kosuki Hiraiwa, Aru, Jeremy "Vicious" Lopez, James "jchensor" Chen, and Steve "TastySteve" Scott. She will appear in Street Fighter 6, incorporating the voices of community commentators to narrate what is happening on the battlefield between two fighters. Trinidad is no stranger to the Street Fighter franchise, even modeling her ring gear as Juri at WWE Royal Rumble this weekend. She is also an avid gamer with an electrifying personality and style, whose voice could increase the hype as the match heats up.

Trinidad iterated her admiration for the Street Fighter games, saying that she is a longtime fan of the series. “I’ve been an avid gamer since I was a child and a huge fan of Street Fighter,” she said in a press release. “I can still remember epic matches with my brother, and I would always beat him with my favorite character Vega. It’s surreal to now be a part of this amazing franchise, and I am honored and thankful for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

As for the Real-Time Commentary feature, it incorporates the voices of the Fighting Game Community (FGC) commentators and personalities to narrate everything that happens during the fight with easy-to-understand explanations. The Real-Time Commentary feature also makes it a great learning tool for beginners, since commentators also explain how the combos and abilities work.

Street Fighter 6 also utilizes a few other features to create an evolved combat system, including dynamic control types and the drive gauge. Control types in the game allow players to enjoy the flow of combat without the need to remember command inputs, as the drive gauge helps them fight to their liking. Street Fighter 6 will release on June 1 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
