Apple targets eight Samsung products for sales ban

4.6
Apple won, and won big, in court last week when a San Jose, California jury said that Samsung must pay just over $1 billion for its violation of Apple's design patents. Now Apple has announced the list of devices from Samsung that wants to see banned from sale in the US.

News.com reports that the list of devices that Apple is targeting for its sales ban include several versions of the Galaxy S II smartphone. They include the Galaxy S 4G, the Galaxy S2 from AT&T, the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, the Galaxy S2 from T-Mobile, the Galaxy S2 Epic 4G, the Galaxy S Showcase, the Droid Charge and the Galaxy Prevail.

Apple says that while all of the products on its list violate its patents in some way, the Samsung Galaxy S 4G has the most. Apple claims that the device infringes on two of its design patents, along with three of its utility patents. The product's trade dress also violates two of Apple's designs, according to the company.

Samsung will almost certainly try to stop Apple's sales ban request. It has also said it plans to ask the judge in the case to overrule the jury's decision. If that fails to happen, Samsung plans to file a full appeal.

It was probably worth all the items that it was in. That's a lot of money if you think about how many they sold.

TopNotchKiNG Everybody who keeps saying that Apple is Over Priced or Overated...
Apple was one of the Original Smartphone makers, they release the iphone and it took over the cell phone market, They revolutionized touch screen technology, they designed and created thousands of ideas and concepts and then they packed every one of those ideas into a little phone that could be easily accessed. They created an amazing wifi system to connect to wireless networks anywhere that you go, they released thousands of apps and books, games, music and more so that you could truly make your iphone really yours.

My point is, Apple is the offspring of the father of all modern technoloty, Stebe Jobs, who in my eyes was one of the most creative people ever born. Over thousands of hours have been put into those small aspects of the iphone and everything made by apple, there a company who truly cherish what they do and create. When it comes to a samsung phone, all the work they put into is was effortless, all they had to do was go pick up an iphone and steal its concepts and ideas, details, looks, size and more.

Apple will win the case, strictly off of the craftmanship, and creativity of its late CEO Steve Jobs

Still doesn't change the fact that Apple products are over priced. They are a company that cherishes money. And to say that Samsung "stole" everything from the iphone is just ludicrous. Every smartphone out has similarities and will continue to. I'd much rather spend 50% - 60% less on a Samsung, or any other Android based phone, than waste money on an iPhone or any other Apple product.
