Former Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime is a Big Fan of Xbox's Halo

4.2
Of all the recognizable faces within the video game industry, Reggie Fils-Aime, the former president of Nintendo of America, is one that many members of the gaming community possess a great deal of respect for. In the years since leaving Nintendo, Fils-Aime has accomplished quite a lot and has remained an active presence within the gaming community. Recently, Fils-Aime revealed his favorite non-Nintendo game, and it is quite surprising.

It's not uncommon for various gaming executives affiliated with a specific publisher to enjoy titles produced by other big-name studios. For instance, the head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, has on multiple occasions supported and praised both Sony and Nintendo for several different reasons. Though, in this particular case, it seems that the former Nintendo president is a big fan of Xbox's most famous franchise.

During an interview over on G4TV, Fils-Aime was asked what his favorite non-Nintendo title was, and he answered almost immediately with Halo. Fils-Aime later went on to discuss how before he even began working for Nintendo, his kids had begged him to buy an original Xbox and play Halo with them. While Fils-Aime didn't quite mention how much of the Halo franchise he had been exposed to outside of the first game, it's still interesting to hear what he had to say about it.

It goes to show how much attention Halo: Combat Evolved managed to draw when it was first released. Fils-Aime obviously wasn't president of Nintendo of America at the time, but the fact that an Xbox game that was released back in 2001 managed to leave that much of an impact on him for so many years truly goes to show how much influence and popularity Halo has managed to maintain.

It's amazing to see how much involvement Fils-Aime has continued to have in the gaming community, despite no longer working at Nintendo. In the years since he left the studio, Fils-Aime created a podcast, wrote a book, and even joined the Gamestop Board of Directors for a period of time.

In any case, it will be interesting to see what else Reggie Fils-Aime will accomplish in the years to come. It's evident that Fils-Aime still wishes to remain a prominent figure within the gaming community, following the release of his book, Disrupting the Game, which detailed many stories from his time at Nintendo, including a rather tense encounter with Shigeru Miyamoto over the bundling of Wii Sports with the Wii.
