Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Shows Off 20 Minutes of Gameplay

4
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is launching near the end of March, throwing players into another game of Bunkers and Badasses (Borderlands’ version of Dungeons and Dragons) with Tina herself as the gamemaster. It’s highly based on the Assault on Dragon Keep DLC in Borderlands 2 but with the formula dialed up and turned into its own game. Understandably, there’s a lot of hype behind this upcoming spin-off to the franchise.

Thus far, a lot of gameplay aspects have been shown. There’s been a little combat, a few previews, and class reveals for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. But, for those who want more, Gearbox has shown off 20 minutes of gameplay.

Creative Director Mat Cox opens up the gameplay with a quick look at Tiny Tina’s overworld, completing a quest there, picking up a new one, and smoothly transitioning to the first-person gunplay of the franchise. Anyone familiar with Borderlands will likely feel at home in the moment-to-moment gunplay of the franchise, though abilities, spells, and other intricacies add new depth to the combat.

This Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands gameplay takes players through an icy area into a deep mountain, really showing all the visual capabilities of the game. Near the end of the video, fans of the franchise also get to see gameplay revolving around a boss fight. As many know, the Borderlands franchise has always had unique, compelling, and fun boss fights-especially when it comes to raids. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands shows off gameplay of a typical boss, but all of it remains encouraging.

If players have been on the fence about Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, there’s a strong chance this gameplay will be able to persuade players, or dissuade them if it really isn’t their style. But at the end of the day, video games are all about fun, and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands seems packed with fun factor. For those ready to get hands-on with it, it’s not too far from release. March 25 is right around the corner.

Perhaps the best way to spend that time is considering a starting class in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Whereas base Borderlands games have four characters, this one has six classes: the frost and melee-focused Brr-Zerker; the thunderous, spectral-hammer wielding Clawbringer; the reaper and magic user of all things death Graveborn; the bullet and spell commando-style class Spellshot; the nature-focused ranger-like class Spore Warden; and the classic rogue-like class, the Stabbomancer.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands releases March 25 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
