Here’s every Activision Blizzard IP Xbox now owns

4.3
Tuesday’s announcement that Microsoft has acquired Activision Blizzard means that the Xbox parent has now obtained a huge number of prominent game franchises.

If the $70 billion deal concludes without any issues, it means Microsoft will become the owner of a number of potentially lucrative video game IPs.

While the obvious examples of this include Call of Duty and World of Warcraft, there are other notable franchises that could become key properties for Xbox going forwards.

Depending on how Microsoft wants to handle them, they could also potentially become Xbox exclusives going forwards.

The list of IPs that could potentially be owned by Xbox following Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard includes:

Blur
Caesar
Call of Duty
Candy Crush
Crash Bandicoot
Diablo
DJ Hero
Empire Earth
Gabriel Knight
Geometry Wars
Guitar Hero
Gun
Hearthstone
Heroes of the Storm
Hexen
Interstate ’76
King’s Quest
Laura Bow Mysteries
The Lost Vikings
Overwatch
Phantasmagoria
Pitfall
Police Quest
Prototype
Quest for Glory
Singularity
Skylanders
Solider of Fortune
Space Quest
Spyro the Dragon
StarCraft
Tenchu (legacy games)
TimeShift
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater
True Crime
World of Warcraft
Zork

Xbox parent Microsoft confirmed on Tuesday that it’s acquired Activision Blizzard in the games industry’s biggest-ever deal.

The deal is expected to close in Microsoft’s fiscal year 2023, subject to closing conditions and completion of regulatory review. The transaction has been approved by the boards of directors of both Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.

The acquisition will also add studios such as Infinity Ward, Raven Software, Sledgehammer Games, Toys for Bob and Treyarch to Xbox, bringing its first-party roster to 30 studios, along with additional publishing and esports production capabilities, and a major presence in mobile with the addition of Candy Crush maker King.

I'm praying that they at least do something for DJ hero, The modding community have been making songs for a couple of years now and i would love to see this game get a 3rd version. Even if they just put every DJH1/DJH2 song on one game and port it to next gen i would be happy.

But i think we're way past plastic music games unfortunately. I'm glad that Clone Hero has a big fanbase so that might be enough to see some music games come back or at least talked about. I expect to see many petitions going out soon.

Very very good! Good list too of the games.

This is insane and big news in the world of gaming, This could definitely revive some games like everyone else has commented. Let's hope this purchase wasn't a complete bust and they make use of the money they just spent.

Steeen Very big news. I know the chances are slim but to see another title in the Guitar Hero world would be so nice.

After guitar hero live i doubt it

Yeah guitar hero live bombed, clone hero for pc definitely fills the void. Wish you could get new 5 button controllers though.
