Rumbleverse Is A New Battle Royale From Epic Games

3.7
Epic Games and Iron Galaxy Studios officially revealed Rumbleverse during The Game Awards 2021. The free-to-play "Brawler Royale" will pit 40 players against each other in a chaotic world and will arrive on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on February 15.

Much like Fortnite, the game doesn’t take itself too seriously. You'll be tasked with eliminating opponents by suplexing them off skyscrapers, dropping elbows, powerbombs, or using your arsenal of upgradeable skills to get the best of the competition. Rumbleverse will be the first game to come out of Epic Games Publishing – but it already seems to be shaping up like another hit.

“This journey began for us with an idea to create an experience that was social, competitive, and chaotic," says Iron Galaxy Co-CEO Adam Boyes. "We wanted to build a big, hilarious playground where spectacular things are always happening. Rumbleverse combines our love for melee combat with the teamwork and player expression that have made games such a crucial source of human interaction."

Aside from all the brawling, Rumbleverse will also include deep customization options with hundreds of items available in your wardrobe. You'll also be able to pick up unique weapons and upgrades during your matches to help gain the upper hand.

With the game arriving on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, you'll be glad to know that both crossplay and cross-progression are fully supported – making it easy to jump into matches with friends on other platforms.

While fans are likely familiar with Epic Games, Iron Galaxy Studios doesn't quite have the mainstream recognition of its partner. The team was founded in 2008 and has since worked on a variety of high-profile titles, including entries in the BioShock, Fallout, Call of Duty, and Elder Scrolls series. There's clearly a lot of talent behind Rumbleverse, and it'll be curious to see how it shakes up the battle royale scene when it arrives in February.
