Microsoft has today added over 70 Xbox 360 and original Xbox games to the backward compatibility library for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

New additions playable on its more modern consoles for the first time include the entire Max Payne and FEAR franchises, plus Skate 2.

Today’s new backward compatible titles include over 20 original Xbox games such as Dead or Alive Ultimate, Star Wars: Jedi Knight II, Star Wars: Starfighter, and the Otogi franchise.

Over 30 games will also be getting Xbox Series X/S FPS Boost, a system-level feature that increases performance in select backwards compatible titles without requiring changes to the original game code.

They include 11 new backward compatible games such as FEAR, Binary Domain and Nier, and 26 existing ones including the entire Gears of War franchise, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Dragon Age: Origins, Dead Space 2, Dead Space 3, Alan Wake and Sonic Generations.

Starting today, FPS Boost is also being made available to 33 titles via Xbox Cloud Gaming that were previously enhanced on Xbox Series X/S including Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and The Evil Within 2.

The new backward compatibility games were announced during a 20th anniversary Xbox live stream on Monday.

During the event, Microsoft also confirmed that Halo Infinite’s free-to-play multiplayer mode will be released today via a beta.

And it revealed a new six-part documentary series about the history of Xbox, which will be released in mid-December.
