Anonymous targets Activision CEO after Call of Duty insult

4.8
The Anonymous hacker collective is now targeting Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg after the release of trailers for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 in which Anonymous is implied to be America’s new enemy in a dystopian future war scenario.

The video flashes images of the Guy Fawkes mask clad Anonymous member, making a not-so-subtle assertion that hacker collectives will be behind what Oliver North called a “nightmare scenario.”

“If you can hack a bank, you can hack a drone,” says UAV pilot Maj. Hercules Christopher as the Guy Fawkes mask appears again in another video that is part of the ad campaign.

Anonymous has posted a document on peoplesliberationfront.net detailing Hirshberg’s private information, including his home address, phone number and email address. The post also includes his total compensation for 2010, totaling $13.9 million.

“So Activision Why you done goofed? We are not the enemy but, well you want it you got it. Eric Hirshberg DOX. #OpPirateAllActivision,” read the post, DOX referring to a dump of personal data.

Twitter account YourAnonNews jeered at the implication of Anonymous posture itself as America’s future war enemy as well.

“If #Anonymous are the bad guys in CoD how will it be an FPS (first person shooter) anymore? We do nawt fight with gunz. We haz lazerz 4 dat,” read the tweet. the video can be seen below

Kids when anonymous protects their online rights:Buys masks and pretends to be apart of them, even they do nothing to spread their word or get them noticed.

When they threaten activision and COD:OMFG!!!!I SWEAR TO GOD IF THEY DO ANYTHING TO COD I WILL RAPE ALL OF THOSE LITTLE KIDS IN THEIR BASEMENTS.

You guys must know that anonymous is not just some fad or group that involves people on computers. With this post saying "Anonymous targets activision", its like saying "Almost 85% of the world population that want to be free for a chance targets activision". Yes it insults some of us saying that we are terrorist, but we are not. There are two parts of anonymous. Some 20% are hackers, the rest are political activist who are those protesters you see on the news all around the world.

Tolerated I hate how through out the years the word "Hack" or "Hacker" has become so negative, when in fact it does not mean what everyone thinks it means.

I can tell you that if any of these Security Firms wanted to trace the "Anonymous"(Another exaggerated word)group than they could do so easily, yet no one actually looks inside the box, everyone just walks around it.

Your ignorant. There is soo many ways to become completely anonymous. It would be a lot harder then you think. Especially if you make your ip address a german one which throws off the location etc. Then they would have hardly any proof and if you delete your router logs thats even less proof. Why do you think they hardly catch smart DDoSers?

Ikr? It's like watching that kid who makes fun off people all the time get his ass whooped. Just a very vague comparison of how I would feel :P

They never even mentioned Anon. and they said the enemy can be anyone. In my opinion, Anon. could be a future enemy.... but at least they fight "for the people". In reality the Government is the enemy. But i feel Anon. fight in a selfish way.. Anon. are simply unorganized and reckless.

Jorge28 I don't think they meant to say that Anonymous are enemies for the US. I think they meant to say that they are powerful hackers and they are an example of people who can hack into all the US aircraft and make an attack. But it was an example not an insult. Instead of feel offended they should feel proud that the government fear them.

And thats what I said earlier but people disagreed. It's whatever people don't seem to be too smart anymore.

If you said that or something similar earlier then I agree with you. I think people don't understand the real point.

Exactly. The didn't say, "The hacker group known as Anonymous could possibly threaten the future of...blah blah blah

By the way, if Anonymous is considered enemies for the US is because the US government consider them as enemies not Activision and Activision is just letting them know that now the US government consider them as enemies, but nothing of that is true. And now CoD haters are pushing Anonymous to attack Activision. I mean immature CoD haters most of them BF3 little kids fanboys.

Ya its **** stupid. I guarantee that if anything happened to them that anon did they would be extremely pissed and wouldn't be riding their dick. It's not that hard to boot someone off cod, and if you know what your doing your extremely untraceable and when the police show up, you can erase all logs within minutes.
