[RUMOR] EA To Be Bought By Nexon?

According to Bloomberg News there appears to be a possibility that Nexon, the free-to-play publisher known for MapleStory, may be in talks to acquire the U.S. publisher Electronic Arts. Nexon had previously announced plans for buying smartphone and mobile gaming developers.

This rumor has caused a significant jump in EA’s stocks today, which closed at around $16 a share, marking the largest increase since November 30, 2011. Meanwhile Nexon’s stock decreased by 2.3 percent at the close of trading yesterday.

So what will this mean in the long run? Well, if EA does get bought out by a bigger company, chances are it could make a return from being considered “The Worst Company in America” by The Consumerist. Then again, maybe not. As of right now this is all rumor and speculation and neither company has made any comments as to what is fact or fiction.

Good to see someone understands. EA and Activision have gotten greedy as ****. Activision with it's ridiculous prices on DLC and EA with their pain in the ass "Online Pass".

I Think EA Should just be kept the same , they are an amazing company and bring amazing games to the world , it will be sad to let them go ,by being bought by NeXon

Johnny_3_Tears EA needs to be soldout they are the worse company they ruined everything.

EA is boss, Battlefield 3 is an amazing game, and all sports games.

They don't make those games, they publish them.

But they do time constrain them so games come out extremely buggy and unfinished.

Is Activision any different?

No they're not.

FIFA 12 will get a patch to fix a massive issue i.e being able to control the other team online after 4 months of complaining because EA don't want to pay for patches, MW3 online hacks were patched in 2 weeks, I am not saying MW3 is better than FIFA or anything. I am saying Activision > EA nuff nuff

You're silly. Charging for cinematics in games. West/Zampella lawsuit. Destroying entire Guitar Hero franchise. Neither is free of error.

Nexon's market cap is around $8 billion, and their CEO owns over 50% of the stock. Float is around $1.5 billion. If they did a stock-for-stock deal for EA at $20 very unlikely that this would be the price.

My takeaway is that this deal cannot happen.

Nexon is bigger than EA? Weird. Hopefully Nexon buys them out, then fires everyone on staff and replaces them with their own Nexon staff. Maybe then we will see less "Online Passes" and other bullshit associated with EA Games.

I personally boycott almost every EA Game. I suggest you do the same. EA are Money Mongers. Whorders. (yes I spelled that incorrectly on purpose). They are greedy little midgets and dwarfs whose primary purpose in life is to deprive you of your hard earned rapidly inflating u.s. currency.
