Skyrim pets via DLC?

4.5
It’s really nice having people in Skyrim that can help you on your journey, and we’ve taken our time to find different followers that can help with a number of tasks. In the real world many of us love pets and in some circumstances you’ll find people liking the company of a pet over a human, which leads us to Skyrim DLC and how cool it would be to have a pet that helps you.

The kinds of pets you could have in Skyrim via DLC – the first option that comes to mind would be a dragon you could tame, which could then bring many options for the dragon to help you throughout Skyrim. You could have tasks to perform and massive quests that involve the dragon and its upbringing. This would not only create more of an immersive experience, but also offer a new kind of follower rather than a human.

When starting early on in Skyrim you would’ve come across a dog that talks, and you needed to help this dog as part of a quest, which includes a little help from the dog fighting people along the road. Now imagine being able to have a dog as a follower/pet permanently? For some people this is mans best friend, so having that option among others would be welcomed for some gamers. What pets would you rather have as a follower, and how could having a dragon to tame bring more immersion within Skyrim?

Improvements to water abilities and action in Skyrim – We noticed some interesting feedback following our article last week about random big monster experiences for Skyrim DLC, which included a number of people pointing out improvements were needed for water in Skyrim. Some of our readers pointed to the need for sharks, alligators, and giant sea monsters like an octopus, a massive turtle, or even a 3 headed hydra that could see some action in the dock on a ship. This addition could be helped with the ability to fight in water and even on a horse, which has been requested by a few of our readers over the last few weeks.

Skyrim is all about the immersive experience and while we doubt the above requests will make it into the first downloadable content, they would help with immersion, which is what Skyrim is all about. On a side note we’d also like to see the story developed more with the blades, and the dragons after the main quest is over with.

Would you like to have a pet in Skyrim, and how would you like to see the story developed with DLC?

Only problem I see with this is when I was doing the quest for *SPOILER* Barbus the talking dog, whenever I went into a cave it would be instantly cleared out because Barbus (who was invincible) would charge ahead and kill everything. So if there was a way to make the pet stay close to your side instead of charging into caves, it would definitely work.
