Steam Deck Receives Official Teardown Video

4.3
In the interest of transparency, Valve has released an official teardown video for its upcoming portable PC, the Steam Deck. The company doesn’t recommend trying to replace all of the different components by yourself, to the extent that even opening up the handheld will make it structurally weaker. With that in mind, check out the teardown below.

The Steam Deck features a quad-core AMD Zen CPU while the CPU is an octa-core RDNA capable of up to 1.6 TFLOPs in performance. It also has 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM and depending on which model you buy, between 64 to 512 GB of storage space. Don’t expect any 4K gaming though – the 7-inch LCD screen is has a resolution of 1280×800.

Starting at $399, the Steam Deck begins shipping in December and will support a wide range of PC titles. It also supports BattlEye and Easy Anti-Cheat for competitive multiplayer while Microsoft’s xCloud also runs fairly well as per Xbox boss Phil Spencer. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
