XBLA achievement cap increases?

XBLA titles have always been a tad stingey with handing out achievement points. After all, there’s only 200 of them to give per title.

But that’s changed, X360A reports. According to the site Microsoft is to double that limit to 400 points soon. The rule will come into effect on June 1. DLC will also be increased from giving out a total of 50 points to 100 points.

Apparently games released in April and May will have the option of adding more points to their totals.

This should please many achievement hunters.

I got to say, I'm glad they're doing this because it...

1. Gives more gamerscore to achieve
2. Gives more of a challenge to the game
3. Makes the game last longer

Achievements are pretty fun to go for, but still satisfying when i hack them. It still feels good knowing you unlocked it legit though. With more to go for = more to unlock. Good decision by XBLA
