Medal of Honor Warfighter powered by Frostbite 2.0

Medal of Honor Warfighter executive producer Greg Goodrich told Joystiq this evening that October's Danger Close game is being built using EA DICE's in-house Battlefield engine, Frostbite 2.0. This marks the second use of Frostbite 2.0 outside of its origin studio, following last year's Need for Speed: The Run.

After a brief on-stage presentation of the game in action, Goodrich spoke to us about how Danger Close is attempting to distinguish the game visually, despite it being built in the same engine that powers EA's other big shooter. To us, the game didn't look dramatically different from what we've seen in DICE's work with Frostbite 2.0, via BF3.

"I don't think the engine dictates on what it's gonna look like," Goodrich said. "We have a wonderful art director who has a very clear vision of the type of lens he wants to tell our story through. The tech is just a canvas, and that canvas is much larger than it's ever been before."

MoH Warfighter is being developed entirely in-house at Danger Close this time around, with DICE offering little more than engine support (and perhaps the occasional hearty back pat). Goodrich confirmed to us that he and his team aren't growing the same impressive beards during Warfighter's dev cycle.

"My wife won't let me this time," Goodrich said with a smile. "Same guys, less beard."

I've played every COD and since Call of Duty 5 things have gone ugly: the players numbers were increased but the quality (both of the players and the games') gets worse every year. In Blops I had over 2 kd and I despised how many useless players were around. No challenge or skill needed at all to play the new cods

CoD needs to take a 2-3 year break (just like Bungie did with the halo trilogy) and make a new game engine and revive the glory of Call of Duty 4. But this ain't gonna happen since Activision doesnt give a **** for the real fans and recycles the same crap every year :(

Campers - They're in BF3 too

Quickscopers - They're in BF3, go on youtube

Glitchers - They're in BF3 too, go on youtube
(infact go on the forums here and look at all the nemsis boosting post. That's not glitching, but shit)

Hackers - Haven't seen any since Black Ops

And BF3 is easy, maybe I'm just good at fps games, but the only fps game that I really played that I really needed to practice at was Halo.

Why does anyone thinks that MW3 is full of kids? Because you find a lobby full of kids it doesn't mean the game is full of kids. I have been in lobbies (yes more than you can think) full of kids in BF3 and Halo. But, Have anyone though of people who play GameBattles or Clan Matches? Where will you like to play a Clan Match or GB in MW3 or BF3? I think they are more fun in MW3 or Halo Reach than in BF3. BF3 is a slow paced game which is not a good game for GB or Clan Matches. My personal opinion is that BF3 is fun because you can do more things than in MW3 but I still prefer fast paced games because slow paced gets me bored in the middle of a game.

That's what I try and tell people who say BF3 is for adults and MW3 is for kids. There are kids on EVERY shooter console game. They just appear to be more prominent in COD because people actually get out of party chat to talk.

Some guy on here had the audacity to tell me "there are no squeakers in BF3 unlike COD." lmao

iAmMasterF this doesn't excite me, it just makes me curious to try it. no doubt this game will suck yet these devs keep rolling out the cr*p & wonder why they get bankrupt.

frostbite 2.0 is gd when used in bf3 but when utilized in a fast paced shooter like cod, it just doesn't work. Its too slow which is great for bf3 slow minded players lol

IW's engine would be perfect for a game like MoH, does any1 wonder why cod sells so well rather than just hate on it simply because they suck at it?

Have you ever even played a battlefield game? Unless you're sitting back sniping, it is more fast placed than call of duty will ever be. (Unless you're playing Conquest on console. The 24 player cap is kinda annoying, so I play on pc most of the time)

Great example of pure ignorance. Slow Battlefield players? You have got to be kidding me. Wonder why COD sells so well? It's because of it's name. If Call Of Duty was released under a different name it would probably be one of the lowest rated games out there.
