This year’s Call of Duty to bring ‘meaningful genre innovations’

That Activision will release yet another Call of Duty this year will come as no surprise. But would you raise an eyebrow if they were to say that they were working on “meaningful innovations” for this year’s game?

That’s what they say.

The company is “laser-focused on raising the bar with this year’s new Call of Duty,” it was said on the company’s earnings call yesterday.

“This year we expect to further expand our presence with the launch of an all-new epic first-person shooter title under the Call of Duty brand. From what we’ve seen to date, the game already looks fantastic and will bring meaningful innovations to the franchise.”

This year’s game is rumored to be Black Ops 2, coming once more from Treyarch. Nothing official yet, of course; it’s still Modern Warfare 3‘s turn.

powerslave5689 Truthfully I think that Treyarch have proven themselves to be the worthy developer. They listen to their fans and always patch stuff. Robert Bowling keeps on saying on how they're going to fix it and how their game is awesome but too bad he is full of BS. I really wish that an honest person would replace him.
I think IW makes better games but i do agree with you. I think IW should start listening to the millions of fans cod has.

IWs campaing story is way better but there online is terrable. Black ops has a way better online because they have everything balanced and the spawning is very excelent. Also it is not impossable to get to the highest level like it is in mw3 now.

I cant wait for this one, i play MW3 a lot but to be honest. . . I f*cking hate it. I still play Black Ops a lot to this day.

shadow1 No need to be angry. David Vahn from treyarch said they are working on the balancing techniques for the game. He is taking suggestions for knife and perks. So there is a chance knife can have no lunge or 2 hit kill. And there is also a chance there will only be regular perks and no pro perks along with a perk system we saw in Cod4/WaW where equipment was first perk. Hopefully he goes through with them and bring back a cod where we will have fun memories with.
The should at least put a perk in they it's a two hit knife kill. Run that with ghost and marathon. So make it in the second perk slot, where steady aim and slight of hand is.

or even better, every knife is a two hit and you have to have a one hit.

or have a perk to make all knife atttacks do half damage on you.

Black Ops was an amazing game, at least after the Patches, hope Black ops 2 or what ever they decide to call it, is a sick a** games

Why does everyone complain about knifing? Its a part of the game that adds excitment. Everyone hates panic knifes when there at the end of it, but love it when they do it. Dont mess with stuff that has been in place for 5 years.
