Beamz Interactive Spins Away Turn Tables.

4.7
Have you ever wanted to try your DJing skills? Well Beamz Interactive have designed something to save you thousands of dollars on turntables and put a whole new twist on the game we currently know as DJing!

While we were at CES 2012 we got a chance to talk to the Vice President and Product Manager of Beamz Interactive, Al Ingallinera Jr.

For those of you who are unaware what Beamz Interactive is, don’t worry, so were we. However once we laid our eyes on this thing we couldn’t believe we hadn’t heard of this sooner!

Beamz is a DJ station. Cool right? Turn Tables and stuff? Wrong! Beamz is a DJ station based around lasers and lights. What basically happens is you plug the stand into your PC and select one of the 30 tracks included, everything from Hip-Hop to Country. You also have the option to import your own songs, which is a huge plus in my opinion. Next up is start the track, it will emit 4 lasers in different positions, when the laser is blocked it will activate a sound. It is almost like a control and interrupting the laser and the censor is clicking the button. It’s extremely basic, unique and fun!

Once you have chosen a track the next thing to do is to pick a tier. The tiers can be toggled once in game. They just contain different sets of noises, depending on the part of the song. The tiers are all specific for the song of choice. For example a country song might have something like a banjo noise, while a hip-hop song may have turntable noises, such as when you spin a track back.

Beamz comes preloaded with 50 tracks, and as I stated before, you can add in your own MP3's later. It it also not very demanding of computer specs, and comes on Windows and Mac, which is great!

Depending on what you are looking for, Beamz Interactive offers different models. They offer the Mobile DJ, the Club DJ, and the Home DJ. They really have all the bases covered on this one! Also, Depending on which one you are looking for, the prices vary from 149.99 to 349.99, with multiple models in between!

At a $149.99USD Price tag for the low-end home version, I am definitely going to be checking this things out! They are currently on sale at Beams Interactive. Thanks again to Al for letting us get a chance to test these things out and showing us the game in a totally different perspective!

All that is is an assigned beat board with no hands :P that's dumb. If costs more than 200$ then just go out and get an Axiom or Akai midi pad

That's pretty awesome. But it does look like it'd take some time to get used to.
