Bungie opposes SOPA, mostly because it 'sucks'

4.8
Everyone at Bungie thinks SOPA "sucks," according to a new post on its News board. Bungie, formerly of the Halo franchise, joins a growing list of developers and companies opposing SOPA, and urges its audience to take action against the bill.

"Bungie is opposed to any legislation that curtails free speech, stifles innovation, and prevents the open sharing of information on the Internet," Bungie's position reads. "SOPA fits that bill. If it passes, it will hurt our community, the gaming community at large, and it could very well cripple the kind of games we love to create and play.

"Just like online piracy, that would be downright criminal."

note: Zerkos and Crucify read everything!

xMasterJPx This SOPA **** is absolutely gay! If this bill were to be passed, TTG will lose a valuable number of members from America and if this bill is passed, TTG would be one of many sites forced to be shut down, due to it being an owned and functioned website in America, being that it deals with a large amount of glitches, modding, free downloads, etc. etc. it gives our wack **** government enough evidence to shut it down! So I'm glad Activision, IW, 3Arc, Bungie, 343, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, etc. all the massive companies, even Wal-Mart, are opposing this bill because it will truly cripple this economy if it passes, they have no idea what it will do, because all congress gives a **** about is money, if it's passed, well if your reading this Congress Members you can say bye to your money, because there will be none to use because you severely hurt the economy by taking away the one thing that helps fuel what we have left to fuel with!
im from america and if these bills DO pass those of us that are not complete idiots will be able to switch onto euro servers even tho it will most likely not pass

Actually Nike, Sony, and Wal-Mart are for the bill to be passed. It's actually made for companies like that. If it hurts their profits then the website can be burned down(reference to Fahrenheit 451). Anyways it is great that some companies are stepping in and voicing their opinion on how wrong it is but heres a list of both sides just so you know who is truly on your side:

Supporters of PIPA and SOPA: RIAA, MPAA, News Corp, TimeWarner, Walmart, Nike, Tiffany, Chanel, Rolex, Sony, Juicy Couture, Ralph Lauren, VISA, Mastercard, Comcast, ABC, Dow Chemical, Monster Cable, Teamsters, Rupert Murdoch, Lamar Smith (R-TX), John Conyers (D-MI)

Opponents of PIPA and SOPA: Google, Yahoo, Wikipedia, craigslist, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, eBay, AOL, Mozilla, Reddit, Tumblr, Etsy, Zynga, EFF, ACLU, Human Rights Watch, Darrell Issa (R-CA), Ron Wyden (D-OR), Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Ron Paul (R-TX)

Quite pathetic if you ask me, this bill is absurd. They need to put their time elsewhere.
