Activision has cut ties with COD’s Ghost voice actor

Activision has cut its ties with the voice actor of Call of Duty character Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley, following a number of sexist remarks.

Jeff Leach voiced Ghost in 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but Activision has stated that he is no longer involved with the series after a series of misogynist comments recently resurfaced online.

A Twitter video posted by YouTuber NitroLukeDX showed a montage of sexist comments Leach has made over the years, including a comment he made about Twitch streamer The Zombi Unicorn in 2017 during a live TwinGalaxies show, in which he says that she didn’t appear on the show because “she’d actually have to be amusing, she couldn’t just rely on her horrendous cleavage”.

(The video below contains graphic and misogynist language)

The montage then goes on to show more recent clips, said to be from late 2020, in which Leach is streaming Call of Duty and making some extremely explicit, sexual comments to female players, which VGC has chosen not to quote.

After the montage of comments was tweeted, Call of Duty news site Charlie INTEL contacted Activision, who informed the site that Leach would no longer be working with the company.

“Sexism has no place in our industry, our games or in society,” a statement from Activision read. “Activision is no longer working with Jeff Leach.

“We strongly condemn these remarks. We are committed to delivering a fun and safe experience for all players.”

Yin I support Activision's decision here. Dude went too far on his personal stream and said highly unnecessary things in the other stream. Someone also posted other things he apparently Tweeted or DM'd women. Yeah, letting him go, at least to me, seems like an easy decision.

oh my god get outta here dude did nothing wrong..smh

Yes he did, hence him being fired. He was being toxic as hell when he could just ban and move on. Go and say the things he said on his stream. Go talk that kind of trash on threads on this site, because I bet your comments would be deleted and you may even be suspended or banned. To clarify, I'm not against someone responding to harassment in their comments. There are lines you can cross in that response though, which he absolutely did.

The problem with today is that everyone is so easily offended by every little thing. I understand that there is crossing a line, I just do not understand why someone would go out of their way to target somebody. I think some people really just do not know when to stop. You never know when one day, you could be in the public eye. Its too perplexing to recognize someone to be a real life person and also a celebrity that makes mistakes.

LMFAO I mean its just a rant. People are taking it way too far associating it with a gender thing when in reality, he would say the same about a male.

This is the perfect opportunity to bring Craig Fairbrass back in. Was such a shame for me when they changed the voice actors of the iconic characters in MW/ CW

The feelings police are monitoring the game voicechats ffs

if you watched the original vod where the clip is taken from and read the chat, you can see his side of view, plus comics are ruthless so if you get your feels hurt by a joker then you should reevaluate your life, just like your failed girl gamer only bullshit that went around harrasing people just to get them mad, what was it bully hunters?.

i agree with mr jeff leach but i dont agree with zombiunicorn shes a moron, honestly this is why you either reuse the voice lines like maps or keep the original voice actors.

this is like the whole monica vs vic trying to defile his name and make him not be able to work anymore, its out of context and makes no sense.

then again according to this im sexist because i bash thots and hot tub meta thots on twitch, i treat everyone equal wanna get punched imma punch you(guys only), wanna start a fight with me ill get you arrested(girls and guys) and if you wanna yell at me ill yell 50x harder.

its not hard to ignore insults and jokes, i do it all the time, when not being sexist, again fk zombiunicorn the stupid idiot who though bully hunters was a good thing

ps were all sexist guys dont worry we all bash thots for being that hoe over theres
