Activision trumpets $1 billion for Modern Warfare 3

As Bobby Kotick nestles himself between a cloud masquerading as a mattress and a gold-trimmed white goose down duvet (the goose has the gold trim, not the duvet), his mind can gently waft into unconsciousness, accompanied by the pleasing crackle of bloggers typing "one billion dollars." Activision announced the enormous sales figure for Modern Warfare 3 this morning, claiming the milestone flew by within 16 days of the game's launch. We hope George Michael was adequately rewarded for providing his flattest cover yet.

The information is derived from retailer sell-through data and the UK's Chart-Track service, and is positioned in comparison to entertainment nemesis Hollywood, where 2009's Avatar took longer to reach the same sales (19 in total if you ask Wikipedia). James Cameron's 3D spectacle rested on an awful lot of noses and eventually reached $2 billion worldwide.

Alas, that's an indication of Modern Warfare 3's diminishing returns in the news sphere. Next year, we want to see two billion bucks before we commit a sentence.

cmon on now mw3 sucks ass the game uses the same mw2 engine and bf3 is better then mw3 BF3 uses the upgraded engine why even bother playing mw3.mw3 is a hacker with hacked lobbys but new people come in the mw3 server game and they see a hacked lobby they **** pump there rank up to 80th its like wtf.when i got mw3 and bf3 i played mw3 first i was having a good time but some gay ass hackers gonna crash the party with all good people but hackers in mw3 is gonna own the noobs. why can't the hackers in mw3 face there own size. BF3 IS BETTER BECAUSE THERES NO HACKERS IN THAT GAME.PEACE OUT fgt COD FANS.I'LL GIVE BF3 THE RESPECT LIKE A GOD.

It doesn't matter who has the better sales...

Call Of Duty is better on console.
Battlefield is better on PC.

Battlefield smashes Call Of Duty into the ground on PC.
Call Of Duty smashes Battlefield into the ground on console.

Stop fighting over which is better... They both have their Good times and Bad times.

Battlefield will rule the charts in Graphics and Multiplayer Interactions.
Call Of Duty will rule the charts in highest sale's for multiplayer and campaign...

You know what guys, Mw3 is sort of a good game, it's actually only the multiplayer that sucked. Everything else is fine.

just cause it looks cool, if bf had prestige symbols id much rather have them,

bf3 has the rank emblems although they aren't like call of duty they are still there why don't you just use those, they don't look that bad, at least the medals don't.

if you can find some for me ill use them, but ive never seen any made before.

i really do not understand how you can say that, they may have the same theme but they are completely different maps if you haven't noticed.
