Information on New Silent Hill Removed by Anonymous Third Party

Team Silent's gone silent and we know it's not Konami...so who's left?

Ever since a new Silent Hill game was potentially teased last week, gamers have been scouring the internet in search of more Silent Hill news. If you’ve been looking as hard as I have, then look no further. The video containing the clip of veteran Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka saying that there’s a big announcement coming in the summer has been removed.

Initially published to Al Hub’s YouTube channel, the original clip showed the interviewer ask Yamaoka about his upcoming projects. Yamaoka responded by saying, “Keeping it in general terms, I think you’ll probably hear something this summer, to be announced. I think it’s the one that you’re kind of hoping to hear about.”

Al Hub has made a handful of statements regarding the alleged new Silent Hill game that Yamaoka was talking about. When the video was removed last Friday, Al Hub tweeted, “we thank you for your support which contributed to the spread of the interview that we published yesterday with Akira Yamaoka around the world. We were asked to remove the clip, and it has been removed. We apologize and stay tuned for the next interviews.”

In the following days, they confirmed via Twitter that it was not Konami that asked them to remove the video, but a third party that they “are not able to disclose.” Many fans have speculated about who asked for the video’s removal in the comments of their tweets.

The running theory at the moment is that Sony filed the take-down. While obviously not confirming anything, Al Hub has definitely contributed to the rumor mill with this Tweet:

For those without translation browser extensions, the original tweet from SaudiGamer reads, “Konami denies it has intervened to delete composer Silent Hill’s suspense of his upcoming project https://bit.ly/3tFVNEz The other hand did that Some say it is Sony!”

(Obviously, Google translate is not perfect, but you get the idea!)

As of right now, it’s unclear who asked for the video to be taken down, other than it seems like Konami was not involved. It seems like Al Hub is alluding to Sony being the culprit but until anything is officially confirmed, it will remain unclear.
